  • Overview

    Advances Learning Center is seeking a Placement & Progress Coordinator manage our highly successful Social Skills Group programs.  This includes forming groups, ensuring that they run smoothly and achieve clinical goals, and managing Social Skills Group Leaders.  This individual will also run Advances’ GAP programs during summer, winter and spring breaks. In addition, they will provide backup support to the other Coordinators, help with assessments, conduct training, support center-based services, and provide case supervision as needed.

    Responsibilities

     

    The Coordinator will be responsible managing the operational and clinical aspects of the social skills and GAP programs across multiple locations in Boston which includes our Saturday programs. Primary responsibilities include;

     

    • Recruiting new clients for whom Social Skills Groups would be appropriate
    • Conducting Social Skills Group intakes with new families, assessing skill level of new students
    • Determining appropriate placement of new students into specific social skills groups and GAP programs
    • Managing enrollment and re-enrollment processes
    • Coordinating with other team members to ensure operational excellence of the program, including optimizing scheduling of staff and clients, managing supplies, etc.
    • Meeting with parents to discuss progress
    • Managing clinical programing including set-up of all data-collection systems, overseeing data-collection and graphing by Social Skills Groups Leaders (SSGLs) and Socials Skills Group Assistants (SSGAs).
    • Directly supervising social skills group assistants and leaders, including collecting and delivering performance feedback, taking employee performance data, managing attendance and other employee issues, and delivering performance appraisals
    • Providing on-site support for our Saturday programs and travelling between sites
    • Partnering with recruiting on hiring of new staff
    • Conducting training for new staff
    • Covering for group leader and assisting with creating group materials, data sheets, etc, as needed
    • Supporting non-group clinical programing, as needed

     

    Qualifications

    • BCBA certification
    • LABA
    • 2+ years’ experience with Social Skills groups or equivalent required, experience with ALC Social Skills Groups strongly preferred
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience managing people strongly preferred
    • Ability to identify and escalate concerns requiring higher level oversight
    • Ability to oversee group-related work of other BCBA’s
